Describe the business process
Define the trigger, required data and expected outcome. Identify approvals and situations that cannot be resolved automatically.
Inspect the integrations
API access, rate limits, data quality and authentication can create more work than the visible workflow. Confirm whether a supported connector covers the required behavior.
Include operation
Hosting, licensing, provider usage, monitoring and recovery are separate from building the initial flow. Decide who owns failed or ambiguous executions.
Make the scope testable
Use representative success, duplicate and failure scenarios. An estimate based only on the number of nodes will miss important differences between simple and consequential actions.
