What should an SEO engagement include?

What should an SEO engagement include?

An SEO engagement should define the pages and business questions it targets, the changes it will make and how implementation and results will be evaluated. A report alone is not a delivery plan.

Establish the baseline

Review relevant search demand, current landing pages, indexation and conversion definitions. Identify what data is missing and how that limits conclusions.

Specify the work

Separate technical fixes, content changes, internal linking and measurement. Each recommendation needs an owner, a reason and an acceptance check.

Define implementation responsibility

Clarify whether the service writes briefs, edits content, changes code or coordinates another team. Account for access, approvals and release timing.

Report outcomes and limits

Show completed changes and relevant observations, including inconclusive results. Rankings and citations are not guaranteed, and traffic should be evaluated against customer fit and conversion quality.
