Managed hosting & infrastructure

Infrastructure with an operating plan.

Managed hosting, server management, migrations and recovery work for the applications your business depends on. Make ownership and limitations clear from the start.

Choose infrastructure with the application in view.

A server specification is only one part of a reliable service. The application, database, mail, files, backups, certificates, monitoring and deployment process all compete for resources and have different failure modes. We begin by identifying the workload, data and people who depend on it. That makes it possible to discuss virtual or dedicated resources, managed changes and recovery as one operating plan.

Different workloads need different operating choices.

These routes separate hosting, management and recovery responsibilities before a provider or machine is selected.

Host a defined workload

A managed VPS can fit a bounded application stack when capacity and single-host limitations are understood. Dedicated resources may be justified by sustained demand or configuration needs. Neither choice creates redundancy on its own.

Take responsibility for an existing server

Server management begins with an inventory of services, access, updates, monitoring and backup coverage. We identify inherited risks before treating the machine as a normal maintenance baseline.

Move or recover the service

A migration needs dependency mapping, a target rehearsal and a cutover route. Backup planning starts with what must be restored and verifies actual recovered data in isolation. A completed copy is not proof of a working recovery.

Put limits in the agreement.

Provider charges, response coverage, maintenance windows, backup retention, acceptable data loss and recovery time are choices to approve. We do not call a single server highly available or promise a recovery target without the architecture and tests to support it. The operating record should also show who controls the provider account, domain, keys and off-host copies.

Start with the services that must keep working.

Describe the application stack, users, data volume, dependencies and current problems. If the information is incomplete, an inventory can be the first engagement. We can then compare hosting options, identify missing safeguards and define the checks needed before a migration or management handover. Credentials and customer data belong in an approved secure channel, not an initial contact message.

Questions before we start.

Does a managed VPS include high availability?

No. A single VPS remains one live host. Backup and recovery can reduce the impact of failure but do not provide the same continuity as a redundant architecture. We describe the limitation and scope the required recovery path explicitly.

Can you take over a server that is already running?

After an inventory and access review, we can define a management scope. Existing configuration, backups, undocumented jobs and provider constraints must be understood before accepting routine maintenance or response responsibilities.
